founder & chairman
Khurram Tauheed serves as the founder and Chairman of FriendsCafe Club of Canada, having earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from NED University in Karachi, Pakistan. Currently employed as a Project Manager in Calgary, Canada, he previously held the position of President at the NED Alumni Association Alberta.
Dedicated to community service, Khurram actively contributes to FriendsCafe Club, playing a pivotal role in initiating and executing various social, professional, recreational, and welfare programs for professionals and students in both Canada and Pakistan. Beyond his professional commitments, he is passionate about giving back to the community.
Khurram’s interests include traveling, socializing, and spending quality time with family and friends. In expressing his commitment to the community, he draws inspiration from Makhdoom Nohiuddin, quoting
“Hayat Le ke Chalo Kainat Le Ke Chalo,

Ghous M Asim Akhtar, Certified Electrical Engineering and Project Management professional worked across international settings, including Pakistan, UAE, KSA, USA, and Canada. Alumni of NED University Pakistan and King Fahd University Saudi Arabia.
Served FriendsCafe as General Secretary for 2022, and presently serving as President for 2023-24.

Noman Sikandar, a graduate of NED and Concordia, holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Currently serving as the Project Development Manager at one of Canada’s oil and gas company.

Muhammad Ali Khan, is a dedicated individual with a passion for community service. His volunteer efforts extend to organizing numerous events, including recurring soccer events in the Cambridge region. Known for his active involvement and welcoming demeanor, Muhammad Ali Khan is always ready to lend a helping hand to the community. In his professional capacity, he serves as a Network and Cyber Security Engineer, bringing his expertise to both his professional and community-oriented pursuits

Ali Dawood, BE Mechanical Engineering from Pakistan. Started my career as a Field Engineer with MOL Pakistan Oil & Gas Company in 2008. Moved to Canada in 2012 to pursue M. Eng in Oil & Gas from Newfoundland, Canada. Mooved to Calgary in 2014. Currently working as a Pipeline Engineer in ATCO.

Taha Rasul Sheikh, an engineer and alumni of Beaconhouse, Nedian, and Memorial University of Newfoundland, engages actively in co-curricular pursuits. With a background in representing institutions in Model United Nations and Shell Eco Marathon competitions, he has showcased his skills internationally. Taha’s passion for sports extends from representing his school and university in various disciplines to twice participating in inter-university tennis championships. As a dedicated member of the Friends Café Social Group since 2017, he contributes as a team lead, organizing diverse events. Currently, he relishes life amidst mountains as a Project Engineer, cherishing his role as a happily married father of three.
